November to February: Winters are by far the best time to visit Kumarakom. The minimum temperature is usually around 18 degrees Celsius and this is a great time to enjoy activities like sightseeing and houseboat rides and also enjoy the abundant flora and fauna in the region. This is the perfect time a vacation or honeymoon.
March to May: March marks the beginning of summer in Kumarakom. The temperature gradually begins to rise and the maximum temperature goes up to around 37 degrees Celsius. This season witnesses a drop in tourists and this is a great time to get a great deal on hotel accommodation. Since Kumarakom is not very crowded during this time, the summer season is a great time to explore the city peacefully at your own pace. Though do remember to carry light cotton clothes and sunscreen to avoid sunburn.
June to September: The monsoon season is another great time to visit Kumarakom and enjoy the city in its rain-washed splendour. Though houseboat rides are not available in the monsoon season, this is a great time to go bird watching, as many migratory birds visit Kumarakom during the monsoon.
