Athirapally-Munnar-Kumarakom Tour Package

Day 01: Athirapally

Pickup from Cochin Railway Station / Airport and proceed to Athirapally Waterfalls (also known as “Niagara Falls of India”), the stunning waterfalls which is like a gift from nature is one of the main tourist attractions. To reach the waterfalls we have to take a short walk through the Athirapally Forest. Many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna are found in the forest. After reaching the waterfalls the view of having a combination of greenery with the crystal clear water is just tremendous. A perfect destination for the trekking and nature loving people. The waterfalls here flow through the Vazhachal forest toward the Arabian Sea. After lunch if time permits we can also visit the Vazhachal Waterfalls, which is also a famous tourist spot.

Day 02: Athirapally

After breakfast drive to Sholayar Dam-the 2nd largest rock dam in Asia. It is situated on Athirapally Valparai Road. This dam is the lifeline of the local people and this dam is surrounded by Sholayar forest and if you are lucky you may see wild animals drinking water from this dam. The most natural way of exploring the majestic beauty of Sholyar ranges of Western ghats is by trekking. After lunch Thumboormuzhy Dam near chalakkudy . Here the water is diverted for irrigation purposes. The hanging bridge here is a main attraction. There is a butterfly park nearby and is identified as a home for about 140 species of butterflies. Charpa Waterfalls-60 kms from the district of Thrissur. Another gift of nature lies between the famous Athirapally and Vazhachal Waterfalls. A large number of nature lovers are seen, who often stop here to witness the exquisite beauty of the place.

Day 03: Munnar

After breakfast, move to Munnar. On the route visit one of the most enchanting Waterfalls in Kerala-CheeyapparaWaterfalls on the Kochi-Madhurai Highway (NH 49). After reaching Munnar have a freshup and then let’s go to Blossom Hydel Park-just 3 kms away from Munnar Town.Best place for nature lovers- a colorful park with rich beautiful flowers and greenery. It offers adventure trails, boating, nature walks, bird watching with facilities for cycling, roller skating, badminton as well.

Return back to the hotel / resort.

Day 04: Munnar

After breakfast have a ride to Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai) – a magnificent view of rare species of Nilgiri Tahr, or visit Rajamala Wildlife Sanctuary which is also a part of Eravikulam National Park. After Lunch, proceed to Mattupetty Dam, Kunadala Lake and Eco Point,to have a beautiful view of Munnar and experience it with boating. Evening visit to the Lakkam Waterfalls, one of the most preferred destinations chosen by the tourists.

Back to hotel / resort.

Day 05: Kumarakom

After breakfast have a ride to Kumarakom to have a houseboat stay. After reaching Kumarakom proceed to the houseboat by the time specified (12 pm). As the guest are entered in the houseboat first of all some welcome drink is served. As the trip starts, enjoy the beautiful rivers, canals, backwaters which are passed through. The boat will be passing through the local villages, churches and tries to show the complete beauty of Kumarakom, explore at the maximum. By afternoon the boat will announce for a lunch break and serve the typical Kerala style food with Karimeen Fry and other specials on demand. Again the trip starts and will provide tea with some snacks in the evening time and dinner at the night. Overnight stay at the houseboat. Relax and have a sound sleep in the houseboat being a part of the nature.

Day 06: Kumarakom/ Kochi

Morning after breakfast by morning 9 am the trip comes to an end and it’s time to check out from the houseboat.

Drive back to Cochin Airport / Railway Station.
